"I'd like to state that The School's debut album Loveless Unbeliever is my favourite Welsh pop album of all time
Adam Walton, BBC Radio Wales
"This song just makes me feel happy. It's very young. You just want to hold hands with someone while you listen to it."
Molly Ringwald, speaking about 'All I Wanna Do'
"Perhaps I’m only revealing my own roots in C86 when I talk about how much I adore this, but it’s on pink vinyl!"
Everett True, The Village Voice
"infectious, hyper-melodic pop you can simultaneously cry and dance to"

Top 100 Albums of 2010 - Rough Trade
"Proper girly pop from catchy Cardiff combo.. Drinking deep from a well of elegant by gone girl pop, School singer liz Hunt and her melodic mates have fashioned a delightfully danceable album that could have proudly sat in the racks of a Carnaby Street record shop of yore. Naysayers will sniff and suggest St Etienne got there first, but there's a stronger Spector/Shangri-Las fixation to The School's sound. The smalltown uncertainty of Sandie Shaw rears its head on "Is He Really Coming Home?", while there's a Motown-lite spin to "Can't Understand" and bubblegum doo-wop bounce of "Hoping and Praying"
4/5 - Uncut
"a swaying, winsome tune with some of the Phil Spector lushness of Lucky Soul, the Belle & Sebastian-style modesty of Camera Obscura, and the airy, girl-group vocals of both"
Pitchfork
"On bubblegum pink vinyl, the sixties-saturated sound of The School is indiepop par excellence. ‘All I Wanna Do’ conjures up the aching hearts of Mary Weiss and the Ganser sisters as Liz Hunt’s little-girl-lost voice pours on the passion to describe an angelic innocent’s first big crush. ‘Valentine’ is like a pixie-booted Eurovision entry with a stomping piano-led tune that’s swept aloft by heavenly strings. Douze points pour Le Pays de Galles: c’est magnifique!"
SoundsXP
"indie pop sweetness blended with heart-lifting girl group harmonies, punchy Northern Soul beats and lush Brill Building strings"
VIDEO OF THE DAY (Let It Slip) ..- AllMusic
"they do enough to at least light up (if not part) the greying clouds into blue sky as a musical and meteorological Moses with their floaty, shimmering and often clip-clapping tunes"
