    Relativity Media
    .
We’ve got a lot of scares in this week’s round-up, from horror fare to psychological dramas and a nightmare of a wedding. Must mean Halloween is just around the corner. Wait, it’s only August.

    .

    Paranormal Activity 4

    .
They’re baaaack! We’ll finally get to see what Katie and the baby have been up to since Paranormal Activity 2. (Remember 3 was not about them?) As you can tell from the trailer, they seem to have moved in next door to a family who will begin to experience whatever supernatural occurrences the possessed pair have in store. After raising the bar with scares from the last installments, we are hoping for jumps and shocks that will top the Kitchen scenes from 2 and 3.
    .
Take-away from trailer: Creepiest part of the trailer was definitely the little boy, and did you notice he had TWO shadows? (shiver!)
    .

House at the End of the Street

    .
So we’ve got Elizabeth Shue (Leaving Las Vegas) who is always a pleasure to see on screen and Jennifer Lawrence A.K.A. Katniss, as a mother and daughter who move into a new neighborhood where things aren’t quite what they seem. Lawrence plays Elissa who falls for her neighbor Ryan, My Soul to Take’s Max Thieriot, a boy whose past is filled with tragedy after his parents died and his sister disappeared. Getting closer to Ryan seems like the most logical thing to do when everyone warns Elissa not to get involved with him and then things start to unravel before she can get out of the house at the end of the street.
    .
Take-away from trailer: Should we really love thy neighbor? With this and Paranormal Activity 4, I think movies are telling us otherwise!
    .

    Skyfall

    .
Bond (Daniel Craig) comes back from the dead! No, not as zombie Bond (that would be fun), but after M (Judi Dench) and MI6 comes under fire, 007 returns to uncover exactly why there was a hit on him by his trusted team while figuring out where loyalties really lie. With a lot of fantastic IMAX action as well as two new lovely Bond girls, Skyfall promises to be a must watch.
    .
Take-away from trailer: So many close shaves in this trailer for Bond, even a literal one.
    .

    The Paperboy

    .
Matthew McConaughey stars in many films this fall, guess he and fellow Magic Mike co-star Channing Tatum – who starred in many spring films – decided to split the year. Together with Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron, the ensemble of The Paperboybring to life a sweltering pulpy-tale directed by Precious helmet Lee Daniels. The story follows a young man (Efron) who helps his older brother (McConaghey) prove the innocence of a convicted man (John Cusack) with the aid of the woman who fell in love with the criminal (Kidman). Paperboy seems like many other gritty, almost grindhouse-esque dramatic movies and is sure to test the comfort zones of many.
    .
Take-away from trailer: This movie is already becoming infamous for some of the graphic nature explored in scenes which include Nicole Kidman peeing on Zac Efron’s face (Due to a jellyfish sting). Not for the faint of heart.
    .

    The Big Wedding

    .
Let’s see if the huge ensemble cast of: Robert De Niro, Susan Surandon, Robin Williams, Dianne Keaton, Amanda Seyfried, Topher Grace, Katherine Heigl and Ben Barnes can pull off this family comedy. When Alejandro Griffin (Barnes) and Missy O’ Connor (Seyfried) have their wedding, they decide to bring in, not only the entire Griffin clan with their set of eccentricities, but also Alejandro’s birth mom, a devout Catholic. Because his adoptive parents (De Niro and Keaton) are divorced, Alejandro asks them to pretend to be together for the wedding, so his religious mom won’t have a tizzy which sets up for a catastrophe waiting to happen.
    .
Take-away from trailer:Have fun keeping track of all the family members and who is related to whom. And hey – Williams as a priest!
    .

    Taken 2

    .
Liam Neeson is once again kicking people’s faces in and taking names. This time its to save his wife who has been taken by the family members of the gangs he took out in the first film to save his daughter. Maggie Grace is also back and narrowly escapes a second attempted kidnapping.
    .
Take-away from trailer: Isn’t awesome when titles are said in trailer? Almost wish he’d said “Your mother’s been taken…too.”
    .
