Music fans rejoice: No Doubt have finally revealed a release date for their long-delayed sixth studio album. But there’s still a little bit of a wait to go. The disc, which has yet to receive a title, will be out on September 25.

The band announced the news on their website on Friday, writing, “We are incredibly excited to share the new music with you. Ear candy coming your way! Thank you all so much for your support over the last 25 years. We’ll be posting a lot of updates between now and September as we shoot the video and start rehearsing to perform the new songs live for all of you.” They added, “We will debut a fresh new site and artwork closer to the album release.”

No Doubt has been working on this album now for a few years, but in the long run it will actually be the group’s first new disc in 11 years. The album will follow the band’s 2001 album Rock Steady and will be also be released on Interscope. The disc was initially meant to be out last year. In September of 2011, the band wrote on their website, “Ideally our new record would be coming out this year but it’s just not ready yet. This collection of songs means everything to us and our only priority right now is to make sure it’s the best album we can possibly make. There is still more work for us to do.” The album was also delayed by the birth of several babies (the whole band seems to be having kids lately).

So far we know that No Doubt collaborated with Major Lazer and that producer Spike Stent (Madonna, Depeche Mode) is manning the controls for the album. Other artists are rumored to be on the record, however as the band wrote last year, “There have been some stories circulating about us collaborating with outside producers and artists. Please don’t believe anything you hear unless it comes from us.”
