Alec Baldwin got fans of 30 Rock all riled up recently when he tweeted “I think I’m leaving NBC just in time” because of a conflict involving a camera crew from The Today Show showing up at his door. Rampant speculation overtook the internet about whether our beloved Jack Donaghy was leaving the show, but now Baldwin has clarified some of his statements. Read what he had to say below. The Huffington Post spoke with the actor, who claimed he isn’t leaving quite as soon as people thought. He’ll stay with the show through next season, but he also says that next season will be the last time we’ll see Liz Lemon and company on the small screen.

This confirms rumors that have been going around for a while that the series’ seventh season will be its last, which shouldn’t be much of a shock for longtime fans of the comedy. The ratings haven’t been fantastic recently, and any series that heads into its seventh year should probably be looking toward the end if it hopes to maintain some semblance of self-respect and quality before it bites the dust. It looks like fans will only have one more year of antics to look forward to, but we’ll let you know if NBC miraculously changes their minds and keeps the show going after that.
