  • Tony Awards Fashion

Last night's 64th Tony Awards turnout proved that the line between stage and screen is becoming ever blurrier, with stars like Scarlett Johannson, Cate Blanchett, and Catherine Zeta Jones making a splash on the red carpet. And while these leading ladies – several of whom took home statues - may have conquered both dramatic mediums, I’m not so sure they’ve yet mastered their red carpet roles.

And while these leading ladies – several of whom took home statues - may have conquered both dramatic mediums, I’m not so sure they’ve yet mastered their red carpet roles. While appropriately full of drama, the girls’ gowns – or suits, in some cases – felt mostly like misses to me. While Kristen Chenoweth and Lucy Lui top my ‘what were they thinking?’ list, something seems off about the choices made by Catherine Zeta Jones and Lea Michelle as well. And though Cate’s silver suit screams space cadet, I tend to like it better than the prom-dress-gone-wrong look rocked by some of these other ingénues. What do you think of these edgy ensembles? Total disasters or award-worthy wins?

  • Green & Gorgeous

Last night, my fellow MySpace Fashion gal and I headed over to Shape Magazine/Prettycity.com's 2nd Annual Green and Gorgeous Campaign eco-chic event hosted by Environment Furniture, the innovative design brand whose uses of uncommon woods and reclaimed, recycled, and repurposed woods and canvas have established them as design pioneers. Celeb fans include Julia Roberts and Leonardo DiCaprio, who love the brand's sense of the aesthetic using only sustainable materials.

The packed event included gorgeous and organic beauty brands including ROB|B OPI Concept Salon, Orange Berlin, the Sofitel Spa, Bliss Spa Hollywood, JUICE beauty, Rand Hills Naturals, and many more. We were loving the reusable SWAG bags stuffed with products including Zosimos Botanicals Lip Gloss, Nature's Gate Body Wash, Intelligent Nutrients Lip Recovery, G Skinn Beauty G Kisser Lip Balm, EcoTools Body Butter, Tom's of Main, and Softlips Pure. Who says you need a bunch of chemicals to work wonders on your skin? We're organic beauty product converts for sure.

  • CFDA Awards

The CFDA Awards are often referred to as the Oscars of fashion. This confuses me, as I thought the Oscars were the Oscars of fashion given that scoring the right to dress a big name at the Academy Awards is more significant for a designer’s career than any award. Still, the CFDA’s do manage to bring out the biggest names in fashion - and the biggest name fans of fashion - and last night’s event was no exception.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Dakota Fanning, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Jessica Biel, Gwyneth Paltrow and Devon Aoki were among the celebs who glammed up for the gala to honor award recipients Marc Jacobs, Rag & Bone, Alexis Bittar, Jason Wu, Richard Chai, Alexander Wang, Christopher Bailey, Iman, Ralph Lauren, and Michael Kors.
