.... Shit hit the fan...? The million dollar question, but no worries this band will answer you, as soon as the get up on stage. Nothing more revealing than a bunch of shit flying everywere after hiting a blade spining at a thousand rpm. Nothing can be safe from the shrapnel, nothing will ever be the same, no one will be able to look the other way...There is not a better expression for how SHF understands Punk Rock. The style of the band is influenced by American Punk as well as by the bands in this side of the Atlantic. Is this blend of cultures what gives the band their identity. Groups like NOFX and SUICIDE MACHINES from America and Mythical bands from Spain like LA POLLA or DEF CON DOS are only a couple of their many influences. The anger and the strength of European punk blends with the more happy and fun rythims from America, giving at the end an explosive mix. It’s all about speed and overdrive... There is four people in the band. Gustavo drums, with a great experience in the reggae scene gives the beat and solidness. David after being in the pits of local punk is more than just a bass player, the man. Igor the only guitar player in the band gets the job done with style, his rythims with a lot of personality are a good example of the blend. Alejo is the singer, big mouth dude. Nothing special singing, but Punk is a lot more than just that, and he knows about it. The history of the band goes way back to 1996. A group of kids like always gets together to drink some beers and play their favorite tunes. After a while they start playing their own songs and figure out that the band, with their half american singer has a natural and particular sound. After these many years they’ve had time to play with many bands from Spain like DOVER, SEÑOR NO,... They’ve also had some times of coming and going but always being an avalanche of energy, fun and fight. Apart from the stage which is were they feel more comfortable finally they’ve had time to record something decent.”ON THE HUNT” has really been worth waiting for. Not only the strenth and energy of the tunes is visible, but also their true identety of a band that after the years has grown up to be something fresh and real. The lyrics are also a good sample of their political commitment. From the Coltan wars in Africa to the real state battles of Europe SHF is always on he hunt. Don’t look back but here they come, they are SHF.
.... Shit hit the fan…? La eterna pregunta a la que esta banda de Punk Rock da respuesta nada más subirse al escenario. Y es que, no hay nada más revelador que un montón de mierda volando por los aires tras golpear la pala de un ventilador a mil revoluciones. Nada queda a salvo de la metralla, nada volverá a ser lo mismo, nadie podrá mirar para otro lado… Esta expresión anglosajona viene más o menos a explicar la manera de entender el Punk Rock que tiene SHF. El estilo musical, al igual que el nombre, está muy influenciado por la cultura Norteamericana. Al mismo tiempo todos los integrantes son españoles, con lo que la mezcla con el estilo Europeo de hacer Punk es innegable. La fuerza y la crítica europeas se unen a la alegría y el desparpajo americanos, para dar lugar a una mezcla explosiva. Las letras en inglés, no son algo artificial. No en vano el cantante es bilingüe con lo que el idioma y la cultura americana fluyen de forma natural. Grupos de aquí y de allí han ejercido desde siempre una gran influencia en SHF. Desde LA POLLA y DEF CON DOS pasando por NOFX y SUICIDE MACHINES lo que está claro es que se trata de ritmos rápidos y sonido distorsionado. La historia de SHF arranca en otoño de 1996. Siguen el esquema clásico de todas las bandas adolescentes. Quedar con los colegas para beber unas cervezas y tocar unas versiones. Pasa el tiempo y empiezan con sus propios temas, dándose cuenta de que la banda tiene algo especial. Después de tantos años ha habido tiempo para todo. Conciertos con bandas como DOVER, SEÑOR NO, ANARKO,…etc. Pero también tiempo para parones y vueltas a la carga, eso sí, siendo siempre un torbellino musical lleno de energía, fiesta y lucha. Además del directo que es donde la banda realmente esta cómoda, por fín han tenido tiempo para grabar algo con una calidad decente “On the hunt” ( a la caza ). La espera a lo largo de los años ha valido la pena, porque los resultados de la grabación han sido un éxito. No solo ha quedado reflejada la fuerza y la alegría de la banda sino que también se puede apreciar una identidad muy marcada. Algo con carácter y eso en el Punk Rock es fundamental. La letras son muestra del compromiso político de la banda, de las guerras del Coltan en Africa a la batalla inmobiliaria en las calles de Europa, SHF no deja pasar una con su mensaje crítico a la vez que divertido. No mires atrás, pero ahí vienen, son SHIT HIT THE FAN.
