November News!
November arrived - that means wind and rain, cuddling up at home with a warm cup of tea, listening to so much new music and feeling the urge to play music. It's bedroom music for now that soon will be transformed into something different, as soon as Giorgio will come from Barcelona in less than a week and we get to practice new ideas, those periods are always very intense and exciting. Some ideas work, others don't, it never stays the same anyway, the input of each band member shapes the outcome.
This month we are also releasing new tracks: An alternative version of a "Roof Somewhere", something a bit more acoustic like the video we did on that sunny day in Brussels (very rare). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54G8KRSdkKg
And our rearrangement/ tribute to a song by Kasai Allstars that is part of the Tradi-Mods vs Rockers album, including lots of other great bands http://crammed.be/index.php?id=37&rel_id=365
Our cover of "The Model" by Kraftwerk has been recorded and should be released in mid December.
We also have a few gigs in December, (more infos on our myspace agenda)

Salut from Brussels, September 2010 News!
Salut from Brussels!
If last summer felt like never ending as we’ve been recording our latest album under the great Spanish summer heat, this year feels like summer never came, which might have to do with the fact that two of the drifters moved to Belgium, probably one of the rainiest countries in Europe! but apart from that we can’t complain, it’s a diverse and fun city, nice chocolates, beers and fries, nice people too, a good place for drifters, meeting people from all over the world, lots of cultural activities, chaotic, unpredictable and hardly ever boring. Yes, there’s definitely more to Brussels than the European union and huge skyscrapers! In fact there are lots of beautiful Art Noveau buildings ...
So far so good! Lots of news to tell you, here we go:
1. October our 2 side single will be digitally released featuring ‘Ready to Fall’ from our latest album Fall of Spring and a different version of ‘A Roof Somewhere’, it will be available on itunes.2. Our album will be finally released in the US this September! Some first press commentaries

3. We re-arranged/reinvented a song of our Congolese labelmates Kasai Allstars for the double compilation ‘Tradi-Mods vs Rockers’ out on Crammed Discs in October. Mixing & Release End of March
Finally we are in the studio again, mixing the new album, which should be released in the end of March. Our mixer is a colorful lady treating the layers of the songs like a skillful cook preparing asparagus or something, it's fun to be around here among all those machines and a magician knowing how to get some life out of them! -
3 summers and some shots of our recording session in Majorca by Victor Moragues
This year I felt experiencing 3 summers. The first one was in the end of may/beginning of June when we played in France/Spain/Portugal. The second one in Menorca (July) where we started to compose new songs and the third in Majorca (August) where we started to record some material. Now the summer is finished ( the album isn't!!) seems like we'll finalize it this autumn in Brussels - That's what lonelyDRIFTERkaren stands for after all.
One day our friend Victor Moragues visited us in the countryhouse in Majorca. What you can see here is his sensitive view of our recording environment. Plus us very natural :) Here we go:
