Spanish pop group Lagarto Amarillo formed in Madrid in 2001 by the Mora siblings Pablo (vocals, guitar), Patricia (keyboards, vocals), and José (bass, guitar), as well as Chema Buhigas (guitar).
Lagarto Amarillo released their debut album, Que la Suerte Te Acompañe, in 2003, but their big break came in 2007, when "Cuéntame," from their sophomore effort Distinto, was chosen as the main song for the wildly popular TV series Cuéntame Como Pasó. Buhigas left shortly thereafter, and the band continued as a trio, eventually releasing Estoy Mintiendo de Verdad in 2012. Lagarto Amarillo's cheerful brand of pop is made distinctive by the group's assimilation of rumba, rap, Latin, and world music. ~ Mariano Prunes
