Also these things: that chemical that's released in my brain when I sing; daydreaming; bass lines; working as a dancer & choreographer; Mr. Brockman (high school choir director); Muriel Brown Older (voice teacher); pianist Jason Wanner; bassist Kevin Hill; the amazing Nate Ketner; and the voices and songs of Ella Fitzgerald, Mildred Bailey, EmmyLou Harris, Sarah Vaughn, Megan Slankard, Lucinda Williams, Joan Osborne, Rebecca Kilgore, Mary Black, Chrissie Hynde, Anita O'Day, Nancy Wilson, Nat King Cole, Natalie Merchant, Dinah Washington, Bonnie Raitt, and Julie Andrews.
