  • California here we come!

    Current mood:enlightened

Not literally but in a figurative sense...

California, the lead track off our new EP is now online for your listening pleasure. We began recording back in October... 2008! It's been a long time in the making due to babies being born, illness, exile overseas and other strangeness... but it's really, really, really honestly truly almost done. Everything is recorded and 90 percent mixed.

California was recorded at Dungeon Studios in Oxford with a wonderful engineer named Rich Haines. We had only just begun our relationship with Rich when he became seriously ill. Sadly he died just a few months later and never got to hear the finished product. We'd like to dedicate California to his memory. He was a seriously great bloke.

We're pleased to say that the final version of this song was mixed by Mark Gardener (who you will know from the band Ride who also featured a certain member of International Jetsetters.)

We hope you like the new song and will come back for the full EP when it's out in MAY. Honestly! It will be out in May... this year. And we're even planning on releasing our debut full-length album by the end of 2010. Yep. At last.

    More soon.

    Mark

Greetings! Here is the news. Dave Motion's video for Inside Out has been selected for the eighth Indie Music Video Festival. The festival is currently touring the world with stops in Los Angeles, New York, Vancouver and even our hometown of Oxford! For the full schedule please click on http://www.imvf.com/

In other news, we're still working on the follow up to Heart Is Black and are delighted to announce that Loz's pal and former Ride bandmate Mark Gardener is working on a mix of our new single California. We will let you know the release date as soon as we can.

Not much to report on the gigging front as we've been busy with a variety of projects but we are looking forward to playing the Halesworth Gig In The Park festival on August 8th.

In Jetsetter-related news, Bert and Fi's Welcome to Peepworld is gathering force. Between them they've amassed an amazing collection of 39 songs which would indicate they could soon be releasing a debut triple album! Stay tuned for more news there. Mark is also pleased to announce his new side project Chambers Of The Heart - an improvisational psychedelic noise band - is to make its debut live appearance next month. Keep your ears peeled for more about that. Ears peeled and eyes pinned back. Something like that.

    More soon!
