After his brief stint with Lagartija Nick concluded in 2000, guitarist Paco Luque began a new project with other veterans from the alternative metal scene, such as SinPerdón's Javi Cordobilla, Perpetual's Alex Bedmar, and Lakademia's Aitor Velázquez and DJ ChicoNar.
The group recorded several demos under the moniker Supastarz Sound System throughout 2001, but by the time of the release of their debut album, 2002's Me Duele la Boca de Decirlo, they had finally settled on the name Hora Zulú. Years of touring (including a supporting gig for Slayer) and recording followed (by 2012 Hora Zulú had released five albums), always characterized by their passionate fusion of trash metal with flamenco and hip-hop. ~ Mariano Prunes
