Furthur is a collective of people with artistic and scenic interests from many backgrounds -musicians, painters, photographers, designers, writers...- oriented towards the creation, development and promotion of events related to music and arts.

The trip started back in 1996, and since then the Furthur bus has inexorably howled down a trail of unexpected and unpredictable artistic creations both inside and outside of Madrid... More than 10 years later, the bus is still pushing its engine into new horizons, expanding our ideas of a wholesome and complete experience.

The musical concepts involved in these events encompass the organic and the digital, the acoustic and the electronic, the most ancient and the newest trends in musical creation. From downtempo hypnotic whirlwinds to fast-paced, trance-inducing beats, our aim is to push the frontiers of the sound experiences of our audience.

Our trademark in dancefloor music is psychedelic trance, and the artists that have performed at our events are a modest and humble yet relevant showcase of the scene in the last 10 years. Some outstanding organic trance acts have also made us stomp on the floor to acoustic psychedelia.

Very diverse influences in live acoustic music and downtempo electronica have resulted in a caleidoscope of world musicians and electronic artists, the link between them all being a concept of music based on quality and a daring approach to consciousness expanding through sound.

But music is only a part of what we try to create; since the beginning the environment of our events has been held as a piece of central importance, creating atmospheres that melt manmade creations into the stunning tapestry of the natural settings at which we have fortunately been able to create our experiences. The care for the environment has been a major concern since the beginning, and it will continue to be so, always. It is our way of being grateful for the privilege of surrounding our audience -and ourselves- with the most beautiful and impressive natural elements.

In these natural settings, the creation of visual sketches has also been a priority since the early days, and our visual artists have always stretched their imagination to amaze us with first quality optical experiences, seamlessly adapted to the particular setting, from ground-breaking video and slide projections to elaborate decoration.

Personal and spiritual growth, laughter and astonishment, learning and exchange, craftsmanship and cinematography; all of them are at home in Furthur gatherings. Clowns, jugglers, acrobats; storytellers, actors, comedians; cinema, photography, painting; talks, conferences, workshops; dance, meditation, musical instruments… With a special focus on creative freedom and mutual respect, we do our best to provide spaces to all artistic, creative and educational endeavours, based on our firm belief that they enrich and improve, and ultimately transform, the fun and leisure aspect that we all look for in musical events.

In short, what we aim for is to give our audience a full-fledged experience for the senses, the mind, and the soul...

Furthur es un colectivo que aglutina personas con intereses artísticos y escénicos muy diversos (músicos, pintores, fotógrafos, diseñadores, escritores…) y que persigue la creación, desarrollo y promoción de eventos relacionados con la música y el arte.

El trayecto comenzó en 1996, y desde entonces el autobús de Furthur transita inexorablemente por un camino de inesperadas e impredecibles creaciones artísticas dentro y fuera de Madrid… Más de 10 años después sigue atravesando nuevos horizontes y generando nuevas ideas para una experiencia íntegra.

Los conceptos musicales que abordamos en nuestros eventos se extienden de lo orgánico a lo digital, de la acústica a la electrónica, de las más antiguas a las más recientes tendencias de la creación musical. A través de suaves remolinos hipnóticos o de ritmos rápidos y embriagadores, nuestra intención es la de ampliar las fronteras y las experiencias sonoras de nuestra audiencia.

Nuestro buque insignia en música de baile es el psychedelic trance, y los artistas que a lo largo de nuestro viaje nos han acompañado en los escenarios son una modesta y humilde pero representativa muestra de esta escena en los últimos 10 años. También hemos pisoteado la pista al son de la psicodelia acústica creada por algunos artistas punteros del trance orgánico.

La música acústica en vivo y el downbeat electrónico aportados por un amplio caleidoscopio de músicos del mundo y artistas electrónicos nos han mostrado un universo musical cuyos nexos de unión son la búsqueda de la calidad y una arriesgada apuesta de expansión de la conciencia a través del sonido.

Pero la música es solo una parte de lo que intentamos crear; desde los comienzos hemos creído en la crucial importancia del entorno en el que se encuadran nuestros eventos. Creando atmósferas de fusión, nuestros artistas entrelazan sus creaciones con los magníficos escenarios naturales que han dado cobijo a estas experiencias. El cuidado del medio ha sido una cuestión central desde el primer momento, y lo seguirá siendo siempre. Es nuestra forma de agradecer y honrar el privilegio de rodear a nuestra audiencia (y a nosotros mismos) de bellísimos entornos naturales.

La creación de imágenes siempre ha tenido un lugar de importancia y la imaginación sin límites de nuestros artistas visuales nos ha sorprendido con experiencias ópticas de gran calidad, perfectamente integradas con el entorno, ya se trate de videos de vanguardia, proyecciones de diapositivas, o elaborados elementos decorativos.

El crecimiento personal y espiritual, la risa y el asombro, el aprendizaje y el intercambio, la artesanía y la cinematografía; todos tienen cabida en las congregaciones de Furthur. Payasos, malabaristas, acróbatas; Cuentacuentos, actores, cómicos; cine, fotografía, pintura; charlas, conferencias, talleres; danza, meditación, instrumentos musicales… Con un énfasis en la libertad de creación y en el respeto mutuo, tratamos de dar espacio a todas las expresiones artísticas, creativas y educativas que creemos enriquecen, mejoran, y en definitiva transforman, la faceta de ocio y diversión que todos buscamos en un evento musical.

Resumiendo, lo que perseguimos es proporcionar a nuestra audiencia una experiencia integral para los sentidos, la mente, y el alma…
