    Freak Mummy are Javimadrid (composer/guitarrist) and Giselle Lau (vocals, keyboards / synths, lyricist and composer); an indie-electronic rock band with a touch of chanson française. Originally from Paris, Giselle came to Spain after studying music theory and classical piano at the Paris Conservatory. She has worked with various bands including doing backing vocals for Krakovia, Vinila von Bismark and Garrett Wall. She has also lent her voice to many advertising campaigns over the years. JaviMadrid is a versatile composer and musician who has also worked with several bands playing anything from folk, to pop/rock and even opera. He co-wrote and performed in the rock opera "Jeckyll and Hyde" in 2001 and more recently played in the orchestra in a production of "Twins" by Plautus, performed at the stunning Roman amphitheatre in Merida. Freak Mummy formed in 2002 and since then they have performed all over Spain, playing at well known venues like Sala Sol, Moby Dick and Be Cool and in festivals such as Femina Rock and Ellas crean. They have also participated in various cultural events playing at the opening of the Meneer de Wit art gallery in Amsterdam, The Getafe Street Theatre Festival and FICA ((International Festival of Audio-visual Creation). In 2007, Freak Mummy was listed as BEST GROUP OF THE MONTH by Guitarist magazine and the single "Fever" was named best song. 2010 sees the launch of their much awaited first album, entitled "Ombres chinoises". Having spent since dicember of 2009 till april 2010 recording in Serenity Studios in Madrid with producer Josh Tampico, the album was then sent to New York to be mastered at Sterling Studios by George Marino. Freak Mummy..s songs talk about love, violence and fairytales. Singing in French and English, Giselle..s haunting and powerful voice is reminiscent of Beth Gibbons (Portishead) or P J Harvey. "Ombres chinoises" provides a mix of moody ballads and mid-tempo guitar songs full of synth effects, that work to create an emotional and magical atmosphere.
