Dàimh (pronounced da-eve) performs traditional music from all of these sources as well as elsewhere and additionally present original songs. The band has been consistent in its personnel, which has included Colm O’Rua (b. Eire; banjo, whistle, mandola), Angus MacKenzie (b. Cape Breton Island, Canada; bagpipes), Gabe McVarish (b. California, USA; fiddle), Ross Martin (b. Scotland; guitar), James Bremner (b. Scotland; bodhrán), and Calum Alex MacMillan (b. Isle of Lewis, Scotland; vocals). Live and on record, they have been joined occasionally by others, including cellist John Pursor, flute and whistle player Iain MacDonald, vocalist Anne Martin, Galician gaitas and recorder player Anxo Lorenzo, pianist Ingrid Henderson, bouzouki and lute player Xose Liz de Cea, and the Clachnabrochan Gaelic Choir.

Dàimh is an exhilarating musical experience, performing up-tempo songs that include jigs, reels and slides, with flair, vibrant enthusiasm and frequently urgent enthusiasm. The consistency of personnel brings effectively tight ensemble playing that provides a secure base for striking solo playing.
